Niland Announces Resignation as Soccer Coach

TROY, Ala. - Troy University Director of Athletics Steve Dennis announced today that Trojans' soccer coach Diana Niland had submitted her resignation.
Over her four seasons as head coach the Trojans posted an 18-48-5 record, including a 7-13 mark this past season.
“We appreciate all of the hard work Diana has put into this program over the last four years,” Dennis said. “We will start working immediately to move the program forward, and that will start with a national search for a new coach.”
Dennis announced that assistant coach Chris Bentley would serve as interim head coach until a permanent replacement is named.
“I have decided to pursue coaching, teaching and educational opportunities elsewhere,” Niland, a native of Edgewater, Md., said. “I appreciate all of the support our program has received over the last four years.”
