Amy Lewis named to Preseason Team

MOBILE, Ala. - Troy University senior guard Amy Lewis was named to the Preseason Women's Basketball All-Sun Belt Team, released by the conference office this afternoon at the annual Sun Belt Conference Media Days.
The senior played and started in all 29 games last season for the Trojans, averaging 15.2 points per game which was good for eighth in the conference. She led the team in total points (440), field goals made (167) and three-point attempts (119). She was also among the leaders on the team in field goal attempts (382), three-point field goals made (41), three-point field goal percentage (34.5), free throws made (65) and attempted (88), and rebounding (5.1 per game).
Preseason Player of the Year, Crystal Kelly of Western Kentucky, led the First Team which was highlighted by Kim Sitzmann (UALR), LaQuetta Ferguson (FIU), Amber Holt (Middle Tennessee) and La'Della English (WKU).
Meanwhile, the Trojans were picked to finish fourth in the East Division, along with South Alabama with 33 points each. Western Kentucky was picked to win the East Division with nine first place points, while Middle Tennessee was picked to finish second and Florida International third.
The Trojans open the season on the road at Auburn, November 14, at 6 pm.
