FAU Topples Troy, 3-0

TROY, Ala. - Goalkeeper Karla Smith picked up 15 more saves as the Troy Trojans lost to Florida Atlantic by a final score of 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference soccer action at the Troy Soccer Complex.
Smith now has 140 saves on the season. She has started all 17 games for the Trojans, playing every minute of each game.
The Owls (6-7-2, 3-4-1 SBC) attempted 29 shots on the match. Troy attempted only three.
Troy (5-11, 2-6 SBC) had only two shots on goal. The Trojans' best chance came in the first half when Ashley Davis recieved the ball inside the box, turned and fired a shot into the goal that was stopped by FAU goalkeeper Jessica Badders.
Florida Atlantic was led by Susanna Lehtinen who attempted 12 shots, seven on goal, and scored one goal. Anhnhi Tran and Alicia Tirelli also added goals for the Owls.
Troy will return to action on Friday, October 26, at the Troy Soccer Complex as they welcome in Louisiana-Monroe. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 pm. Admission to all home soccer matches is free.
