Women Third at Cougar Invitational

SMITH STATION, Ala. -- Three top 10 finishes for the Troy women led to a third-place finish at the Columbus State Intercollegiate Friday afternoon in Smith Station. That figure did not include sophomore Martyna Pietryka, who finished second (9:32) as an unattached runner.

Jenean Corcoran placed fourth at 10:01.89, while Jennifer Graham was sixth with a time of 10:17.50. Sara Jackson capped the top 10 by running in 10:37.98.

Other Trojans scoring on Friday were Meghan Macdonald (14th/11:00), Erin Clymer (20th/11:00.16), Laide Onikoyi (22nd/11:49.40) and Kimberly Tompkins (23rd/12:03.77). Ashley Vickery rounded out the team with a 30th-place finish (13:02.11).

Auburn won the team event with 29 points, while Troy (49 points) was just one point behind Columbus State (48). West Alabama (105 points) and LaGrange (128) completed the field.

Troy returns to action on Sept. 15 at Alabama's Crimson Classic.
