TROY, Ala. -- The Troy University women's basketball team will look to end a four-game losing streak when it returns to Trojan Arena to host Florida International on Saturday.
Troy fell 71-59 at Louisiana-Lafayette in its last game. The Trojans cut a 13-point deficit to just four points with six minutes to play, but were unable to completely close the gap. In each of Troy's last three losses, the Trojans have been within four points with less than six minutes to play.
If the Trojans are going to end their four-game losing streak, they will have to do it against a hot FIU team that is coming off three straight wins, including close divisional wins at Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State. In their last outing, the Golden Panthers topped South Alabama, 70-60 in Miami
This is the third meeting between Troy and FIU, and the first since Jan. 15, 1998, when FIU topped Troy 89-64 in Troy.
