TROY - TROY - Birmingham Southern used a team effort Saturday to edge Troy by two points, 55-57, to win the team championship of the men's Coach O Invitational Cross Country Meet at the Jesse H. Colley Track & Field Complex. Brothers Harry and Stephen Larubi of South Alabama finished 1-2 nine seconds apart, just ahead of Trojan Jeremy Moujoodi in the individual race.
The difference in the finishing times of the top-10 was only slightly over a minute's difference.
The Trojans had five runners in the top-20 including overall third-place finisher Jeremy Moujoodi and well as sixth-place finisher Aadam Soorma.
Really great run by Jeremy,? Director of Cross Country/ Track Bob Lambert said. It was probably his best race of the year.?
Another outstanding run was by Terrence Dixon, who hasn't run in about a month; he finished in the top-15 which is remarkable.?
The Trojans will use this meet to help them in the Sun Belt Championships that will be held next Saturday in Little Rock, Arkansas.
