Dixon Earns Sun Belt Player-of-the-Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Three days after leading the Trojans to back-to-back wins in their first-ever Sun Belt Conference homestand, Troy's Bobby Dixon has been rewarded as the Player-of-the-Week for period Jan. 17-23, the league announced today. It is the second award in four weeks for the senior as he also earned the honor for term Dec. 19 - Jan. 2.
Dixon averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 12.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game in wins over Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. He tied the all-time school record, setting the Division I mark, with 16 assists against the Hilltoppers. He just missed a triple-double that night with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Two nights later, he tallied 15 points, four rebounds and eight assists.
Troy (10-7 overall and 3-2 in the Sun Belt) has equalled its longest winning streak of the season, three games. The Trojans start a three-game road trip Thursday at North Texas.
