Kosiba's Goal in Final Seconds Pushes Troy to 2-1 Win

Kosiba gave the Trojans (3-3-0, 1-0-0 Sun Belt) a 1-0 lead in the first half when she scored in the 36th minute.
Monica Roach put the Lady Indians (3-6-0, 0-1-0 Sun Belt) on the board when she scored off an ASU corner kick in the 51st minute, tying the game at one.
It looked as if the game would be headed into overtime, when forward Brittany Stoltz led the Trojans on a fast break with less than 20 seconds on the clock. Stoltz passed ahead to Jenna Mosher on the left side, who then hit Stoltz inside the 18-yard mark. Stoltz's shot with eight seconds remaining hit the right post, but Kosiba was there to punch in the game-winning goal.
This was a great win for us,” Troy head coach Diana Niland said. We worked hard, we deserved this win and we got it. It's important to win these close games, and we came out on our home field and took this one.”
The Trojans recorded 15 shots, including eight on goal. ASU finished with nine shots, seven on goal.
Troy goalkeeper Laura Longard tallied six saves and allowed one goal in the win ASU's Brielan Smiechowski allowed two goals and recorded six saves.
Troy continues in league play when they host Arkansas-Little Rock on Sunday at 1 p.m.
