Sun Belt Names Hughes Runner of the Week

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Sun Belt Conference has named Troy University junior Brandon Hughes as the Male Runner of the Week for his performance at the Gator Invitational on Friday.

Hughes finished eighth in the race with his time of 24:49.47 and led the men's team to a fifth-place finish.

Brandon started out the race cautiously and ended up running the race of his life,” Director of track and field Bob Lambert said. We are excited about what the future holds for Brandon in cross country.”

Hughes and his teammates will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the FSU Invitational.
