Bargmann Breaks Third School Record

Bargmann won the 1,500m with a time of 4:35.02 breaking the school record in the event set in 1987 by Lisa Emry at 4:35.12.
Bargmann broke the 3,000-meter school record at the Coach O” Invitational on April 2 and the 5,000-meter record on March 20.
Belinda could now be considered greatest distance runner in school history,” Director of track Bob Lambert said.
Senior Lindsey Waldrop finished behind Bargmann in second with her time of 4:53.66.
Also for the Trojans, senior Erin Doud won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.42.
Sophomore Monique Johnson finished third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.69 seconds.
Monique Johnson ran a personal best in the 100 meter hurdles which is the top hurdle time by a Lady Trojan since 2001,” Lambert said.
Sophomore Ronella Gollman placed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.09 seconds and fourth in the 200-meter dash with her time of 24.94 seconds.
In the 400-meter dash, junior Mildred Harris placed fourth with a time of 59.08 seconds.
The 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Shakavia Henderson, freshmen Jocelyn Williams and Tawanna Meadows and Gollman finished second with a time of 46.65 seconds.
Sophomore Carrie Wallace placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 38'5”.
In the throws, junior Katrina Lewis, senior Ioanna Dafermou and freshman Shenita Howell swept the discus with their performance.
Lewis won the event with a distance of 140'9”, with Howell behind her with a throw of 129'8”. Dafermou placed third with her throw of 122'9”.
Lewis also placed second in the hammer with a distance of 151'1” and fourth in the shot put with a distance of 38'2”.Freshman Kate Hyslop placed third in the javelin with her throw of 113'4”. Howell also placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 111'3”.
On the men's side, junior Louis Harris finished second in the 100m and 200m. Harris had a time of 10.55 seconds in the 100m and in the 200m a time of 21.30 seconds.
Sophomore DeLaRenta Hawkins finished third in the 400m with a time of 48.46 seconds.
The men's 4x100m relay team of Harris, senior Emery Vickers, juniors Don Pitter and Michael Acree placed third with a time of 41.73 seconds.
Senior Brennan Jack finished third in the shot put and discus and fourth in the hammer. Jack had a distance of 46' 6” in the shot put, 141' in the discus and 147'3” in the hammer.
Also in the throws, sophomore Ryan Baker finished second in the hammer with a throw of 157'4”. Baker also placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 45'8” and fifth in the discus with his throw of 138'.
Ryan Baker continues to score very well in the hammer, with a great series of throws, even though he finished second,” Lambert said.
Rounding out the throws for the Trojans is sophomore John Rodgers with his third place finish in the javelin with a distance of 173'.
Many athletes didn't run their primary races, or even run at all, resting for Atlantic Sun Championships this coming week in Nashville,” Lambert said.
The Troy track and field team will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in the Atlantic Sun Championships.
