Meadows Breaks Indoor Record

The Panama City, Fla., native broke the record set in 2001, by LaToya Lewis with a time of 7.16 seconds, on Saturday at the McDonald's Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois University.
Meadows also had an 11th place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.60 seconds.
Also in the sprints, sophomore Ronella Gollman placed 11th in the 55 with her time of 7.25 seconds and finished 18th in the 200 with a time of 25.94 seconds.
Sophomore Shakavia Henderson finished 42nd in the 200 with a time of 27.61 seconds.
In the middle distance events, sophomore Carrie Wallace had a time of 58.19 seconds earning her a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter dash.
Freshman Jocelyn Williams finished 15th in the 400 with a time of 59.28 seconds.
Freshman Karla Blakenship led the way in jumping events with her sixth place finish and a height of 9'0.25” in the pole vault. Blakenship also finished 54th in the 200 with a time of 29.79.
Also in the jumps, freshman Erin Clymer earned a seventh place finish in the high jump with a height of 5'1.75”. Junior Jennifer Hogg finished ninth with a jump of 4'11.75”.
Hogg and Clymer also placed 46th and 47th respectively in the 200. Hogg's time of 27.88 seconds earned her a 46th place finish and Clymer had a time of 27.90 seconds which earned her 47th place.
Junior Katrina Lewis led the Trojans in the throwing events with a ninth-place finish in the shot put and a distance of 40'6”. Lewis also finished 10th in the weight throw with a distance of 48'1.75”.
Also in the throws, senior Ioanna Dafermou finished 18th in the weight throw with her throw of 36'11.5”. Dafermou had a 21st-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 34'9.75”.Freshman Shenita Howell placed 19th in the shot put with a distance of 36'5.75”. Howell also finished 21st in the weight throw with her throw of 29'4”.
The 4x400-meter relay team composed of Henderson, Wallace, Meadows and sophomore Monique Johnson finished eighth with a time of 4:01.04.
The Trojans will be back in action on Feb. 18 when they return to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the LSU Twilight.
