ATLANTA -- The Troy University women's basketball team will look to pick up their first road win of the season when they play at Georgia Tech on Thursday at 11 a.m.
The Trojans (5-3) have been perfect at home this season, but they have fallen in every game outside of Trojan Arena.
The Trojans are coming off a 74-71 in over Georgia Southern on Tuesday. The Trojans held the lead for most of the game, but found themselves trailing by seven midway through the second half. A late rally let Troy reclaim the lead in the final two minutes and secured the win for the Trojans. Amy Lewis led Troy with 21 points in the win, and Audrey Muse contributed 18. Alecia Jones also scored in double figures, finishing with 10 points.
Lewis is leading the Trojans in scoring, averaging 13.4 points per game. Laura Lee Holman and Audrey Muse are also averaging double-digit scoring, adding 12.1 and 10.1 points per game, respectively.
The Trojans' offense has been heating up lately. In their last three games, the Trojans have shot a combined 51.8 percent (72-of-139) from the floor. Of Troy's 72 field goals, 55 have come off assists.
The Trojans have struggled on the defensive glass, however, as they have allowed 13 or more offensive rebounds in all three of those games.
Georgia Tech (8-1) is coming off an 81-41 win over Longwood on Tuesday. Stephanie Higgs leads Georgia Tech with 11.8 points per game. Janie Mitchell and Chioma Nnamaka are right behind her, averaging 11.2 and 11.1 points per game.
Thursday's game will be the first meeting between the two schools, and Georgia Tech will be the third ACC school that the Trojans have faced, joining Florida State and Virginia.
