Trojans to Host In-State Rival JSU

TROY, Ala. - The Troy University women's basketball team will host Jacksonville State in the first of three straight games against in-state opponents. The Trojans and Gamecocks are set to tip off at 7 p.m.
It will be Troy's second-straight Ohio Valley Conference opponent. Troy (1-0) is coming off a 68-61 win over OVC member Austin Peay where four Trojans scored in double figures. Junior Audrey Muse led the way with a career-high 20 points along with nine rebounds. Senior Alecia Jones notched a double-double in the game, scoring 10 and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Jacksonville State (1-1) is coming back to the Yellowhammer State after a two-game trip to Utah. The Gamecocks topped Utah Valley State in their season opener, 84-77, but fell to nationally-ranked Utah, 83-46, on Saturday.
Tuesday's game will be the 55th meeting between JSU and Troy, with the Trojans holding a 35-19 lead in the all-time series. Jacksonville State won the last meeting 79-62 in Jacksonville on Dec. 22, 2002. Troy is 18-6 against JSU in Troy, and the Trojans are 3-1 against the Gamecocks under head coach Michael Murphy.
Following the match-up with the Gamecocks the Trojans will stay in Troy to face Birmingham-Southern on Nov. 29. Troy's next game keeps them within state lines as they travel to Birmingham for a meeting with Samford on Dec. 2.
