Men and Women Perform Well at Auburn

Hughes finished the race with a time of 24:06.75 as he led the men's team to an 18th-place finish in the 25 team field.
Freshman Drew Horner was the next best finisher for the men at 51st and a time of 25:15.39.
Freshmen Aadam Soorma and Paul Boothe finished in 150th and 152nd place, respectively. Soorma had a time of 26:56.84, while Boothe finished the race with a time of 26:58.28.
Rounding out the field for the Trojans were sophomore Jordan Mahan (185th, 28:05.53) and freshmen Ryan Sanders (198th, 29:28.31) and Will Browder (201st, 30:05.62).
For the women, freshman Farrah Stewart's time of 18:30.83 earned her a 57th-place finish as she led the team to a 19th-place finish in the 23 team field.
Freshman Jennifer Graham placed 123rd in the race with her time of 19:25.55 and freshman Lauryn Higgins' time of 19:30.75 earned her 130th place.
Also for the women, freshman Mallory Wellman placed 133rd with her time of 19:37.69 and senior Julia Miller finished 141st with a time of 19:46.48.
Rounding out the field for the women were, sophomore Meghan Macdonald (159th, 20:00.90), and freshmen Jenean Corcoran (167th, 20:19.27), Laide Onikoyi (182nd, 20:43.51) and Sara Jackson (194th, 21:15.83).
This was a strong effort on the part of both teams,” Troy Distance Coach Doc Anderson said. I think we're on our way, but the next three weeks will determine a lot about how we'll do at the conference championships.”
The Troy cross country teams will be back in action on Saturday Oct. 22 when they play host to the Coach O” Invitational at the Jesse H. Colley Track on the campus of Troy.
