Trojans Shut Out by Denver

Laura Mann put the Pioneers (5-4-1, 2-0 Sun Belt) on the board with a goal in the 28th minute off an assist from Lleane Grimditch. Denver went up 2-0 when Rachel Fry scored off a header in the 35th minute off a pass from Jessica Keller.
The Pioneers scored two quick goals in the second half, the first coming when Grimditch scored in the 51st minute. Just two minutes later, DU went up 4-0 on a goal by Jenna Billingsly.
Carolyn McCallum added DU's final goal, scoring off an assist from Sarah Martinez in the 89th minute.
The Trojans were outshot 21-1 in the match, with Troy's only shot attempt coming from sophomore striker Jenna Mosher.
Laura Longard tended the net for the first 75 minutes for the Trojans, allowing four goals and tallying four saves. Jennifer Currie played keeper for the final 15 minutes, allowing one goal and recording one save.
Danielle Wiley and Cadie Crean combined for the shutout for the Pioneers.
The Trojans will look to rebound when they return to action on Friday against Western Kentucky.
