TROY, Ala. - The Troy University women's basketball team will play its first home game of the season on Thursday night when it hosts Atlantic Sun Conference-foe Mercer at 5:15 p.m. It will be the first conference game for both teams.
Troy (1-2, 0-0) has been led by freshman Amy Lewis, who is averaging 14.3 points per game. The Hamilton, Victoria, Australia native is also second on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.0 rebounds per game. Sophomore forward Valencia Hairston leads the Trojans in that category, averaging 6.3 rebounds per game.
Mercer (2-2, 0-0) is coming off a 73-67 win over McNeese State on Nov. 27. The Trojans are looking to rebound from last Saturday's 80-66 loss at Navy.
This is the first of two consecutive conference games for the Trojans, who play at Georgia State on Saturday. They then return to non-conference action when they travel to Mississippi State on Dec. 14.
