Danielle Higginbotham

The Trojans have added Danielle Higginbotham to the 2009 coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
Higginbotham comes to Troy after enjoying a very successful playing career for Division II power Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla.
Higginbotham helped lead the Moccasins to the NCAA Regional Tournament during all four of her seasons. She also helped the Mocs become mainstay in the AVCA Division II Top 25.
During her senior season in 2008, Higginbotham posted 436 kills and a .305 attack percentage from her middle blocker position while playing in all 34 of the Mocs matches. She garnered First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference, First-Team AVCA All-South Region and Third-Team All-American Honors. She was also named to the NCAA Division II South Regional All-Tournament Team.
As a junior in 2007, she posted 315 kills in 33 matches. She was named to the NCAA Division II South Regional All-Tournament Team and was a CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-District performer.
During her sophomore season, Higginbotham posted a .320 attack percentage in 34 matches, gaining her All-Sunshine State Conference Second-Team honors.
Higginbotham played high school volleyball at Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Fla. She also played club volleyball for North Florida Volleyball Academy under former Olympian Rita Crockett.
A native of Tallahassee, Fla., Higginbotham is the daughter of Buz and Aundra Higginbotham.
