Sean Reagan returns to Troy University for his second stint, and first as an assistant coach in charge of quarterbacks. Reagan previously served on the staff of the Trojans as a graduate assistant in 2008 and 2009.
He comes to Troy from Texas Tech University, where he served as a graduate assistant working with the quarterbacks under former Troy offensive coordinator Neal Brown. During his time at Texas Tech, Reagan assisted with the breakdown of opponents’ defenses, and was responsible for the scouting report from week-to-week detailing information on the opponents. He was in charge of scout team looks at practice daily, and his gameday duties involved being in the pressbox where he was responsible for fronts, blitz, coverage, and down and distance tendencies.
Prior to his time at Texas Tech, Reagan served as a graduate assistant at Troy for two years from 2008 until 2010. During his time at Troy, Reagan assisted Brown, then-offensive coordinator, with a breakdown of opponents’ defenses. He was responsible for scouting reports from week-to-week detailing information on the opponents’ defenses. He served as a graduate assistant for two Sun Belt Conference championships, including finishing undefeated in conference play in 2009.
Prior to his two stints as a graduate assistant at the collegiate level, Reagan served in different capacities at three high schools in the state of Georgia.
He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Rockdale High School (Conyers, Ga.) where he served as a volunteer assistant coach in 1998. He then moved to an assistant coach at the varsity level in 1999, where he served as the running backs coach for the 6 AAA Region champions and the offensive coordinator for the ninth grade team. Reagan also served as the running backs coach for the varsity and offensive coordinator for the ninth grade team in 2000; before moving to the wide receivers/defensive backs coach in 2001.
Reagan left Rockdale for a position at Chestatee High School (Gainesville, Ga.), where he helped in starting the football program at a newly established high school. He assisted the head coach in developing and planning a strategy for each week; while assisting in all aspects on and off the field from postion coaching to weight training and conditioning, as well as community involvment. He served as the varsity running back coach and junior varsity offensive coordinator in 2002, before moving to varsity wide receivers coach and junior varsity offensive coordinator in 2003.
In 2004, Reagan was promoted to offensive coordinator at Chestatee High School, while maintaining his role as wide receivers coach. In 2005, Reagan was the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. During that year, the team made the GHSA State AAA playoffs for the first time in the school’s brief four year existence.
His final stop on the high school circuit came at Monroe Area High School (Monroe, Ga.) where he served as the offensive coordinator for two years. In 2006, he served as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, where he installed “The System” on offense for the first time. He also served as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach in 2007, before leaving for a graduate assistant position at Troy.
Reagan received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/Leadership from North Georgia College and State University in 2008. He is currently pursuing his Master’s from Troy University. Reagan is married to the former Elizabeth Ralston and the couple has two children, Heidi (age 3) and Chloe (age 1).
