Dustin Landry is in his second season as an assistant coach on the Troy staff. Landry worked with the Trojan cornerbacks during his first season in 2013 and will coach the Trojan safeties in 2014.
Landry joined the Troy staff after one season as the defensive coordinator at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.
Landry’s Navarro defense finished the year 13th in the NJCAA allowing just 256.3 years per game as the Bulldogs finished 10-2 on the year and ranked No. 4 in the nation. Five of his players earned all-conference honors and safety Thomas McDonald was named an All-American. In his lone season as Navarro’s defensive coordinator, the Bulldogs won the SWJCC championship.
Before making the move to Navarro, Landry spent the previous four seasons on Gene Chizik and Wayne Bolt’s staffs at Iowa State and Auburn as a graduate assistant and quality control specialist. Landry coached on Auburn’s 2010 BCS National Championship team and has coached in four total bowl games in his young career.
Landry assisted with Auburn’s linebackers in 2009 and the secondary during its national championship run in 2010. He coached the nickel and dime packages during the 2011 season and served as the linebacker coach in Auburn’s victory over Virginia in the Chick-fil-A Bowl that year.
Prior to joining the Iowa State staff as the defensive graduate assistant in 2008, Landry was a student assistant coach at Auburn during the 2007 season.
Landry received his undergraduate degree in criminology from Auburn in 2006 and his master’s degree in college administration from Auburn in 2009.
