2005: Redshirted, did not see playing time. Struggled during fall practice with just two hits in 17 at bats.
High School: Played three years for coach Mark Mincher at Huntsville High School ... Played second and third base, shortstop, left field, and also pitched and caught for the 2002 and 2003 City and Area Champions ... Holds school single season home run record with 10 ... For his career, batted .320 with 17 home runs, 72 RBI, 104 hits with 24 doubles and three triples, and scored 68 runs ... As a senior, hit .372 with 10 home runs, 41 RBI, 42 hits including 10 doubles, and scored 36 runs ... Was named to the first team All-City and All-Metro teams and All-State honorable mention and participated in the East-West All-Star Game ...
