Troy Women’s Tennis Opens March with Two Matches

TROY, Ala. – Following a three-match homestand Troy women's tennis has its eyes set on a four-match road trip. The road trip kicks off with a Friday-Sunday split when the Trojans travel to Florence, Al. to take on North Alabama before heading to Atlanta, Ga., to do battle with Coastal Carolina in their first conference match of the season.
UNA enters action boasting an 8-2 record while being on a seven-match win streak. They opened the week by sweeping Eastern Kentucky, 4-0. The next day, the Lions overpowered Mississippi Valley State, 7-0.
Coastal Carolina played three matches to close out the month of February. On Feb. 22, they fell to Davidson, 4-1. They followed this up by sweeping Charleston Southern, 4-0, before taking down Presbyterian, 7-0.
This week Coastal Carolina has two matches scheduled before their date with the Trojans. On Wednesday, the Chanticleers travelled to Charleston, S.C., where they defeated Buffalo, 6-1. Coastal Carolina will follow this by taking a road trip to Atlanta, Ga., to take on Georgia State.
