Softball Travels to Georgia Tech for Midweek Matchup

TROY, Ala. – The Troy softball team is set to travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech in a midweek game on Tuesday. The Trojans (12-6) look to end a four-game skid when they take on the Yellow Jackets (15-7).
The Trojans play Georgia Tech for the sixth straight year, and for the first time at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field since 2024. Presley Ivey and Sophia Jenkins enter the game on hot streaks – Ivey collected four hits and four walks over the weekend, and Jenkins crushed home runs against USC Upstate and Auburn.

The Trojans went 0-4 over the weekend in Auburn, Ala., at the Jane B. Moore Memorial Invitational. Ivey and Jenkins shined for the offense at the event, with Ivey reaching base four times against Auburn on Feb. 26. Additionally, Kalee Rochinski swatted her third home run of the season.
After falling behind 6-1 to the Tigers on Thursday, the Trojans mounted a furious comeback but fell just short in an 8-7 loss. In the seventh inning, Ivey came up big with a two-out, two-RBI single to cut the deficit, but the Tigers escaped with multiple runners on base.
Troy dropped contests to USC Upstate, Auburn and No. 11 Virginia Tech to end the weekend. The offense was shut out for the first time all season against the Hokies, as the game ended with a Troy runner getting thrown out at home.
Scouting the Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech is fresh off a series sweep of Notre Dame to start conference play. The Yellow Jackets have put together a solid 15-7 record, earning wins over Sun Belt Conference teams Marshall and Georgia State so far this season.
At the dish, Alyssa Willer has hit six home runs and leads the squad with a staggering 1.372 OPS. The sophomore is fresh off a Third Team All-ACC selection last season, and looks to build off her strong freshman campaign.
In the circle, Madalyn Johnson leads the team with a 3.08 ERA. She's fired six complete games, including three shutouts, and piled up 56 strikeouts this season.
