TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's golf team returns to action this week when the Trojans compete in the Betsy Rawls Invitational, hosted by Texas at the University of Texas Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
Troy is coming off an eighth-place finish at the Chris Banister Golf Classic this past week, thanks to a strong second round performance. Constanza Quiroga led the Trojans, finishing in 17th place at 10-over par thanks to rounds of 1-over in the first and second rounds.
The true freshman leads Troy with three rounds under par on the year and with a 3.05 score vs. par. Quiroga's card has counted towards the team score in 20-of-21 rounds this season.
Katelynn Altese makes her spring debut this week after playing in four of five events in the fall. She ranks second on the team with a 4.33 score vs. par on the year. Laura Fangmeyer's 75.47 career stroke average leads the team among veteran players, while Manya Saini has a pair of top 36 finishes this spring, including leading Troy at the Babs Steffens Invitational in February.
Victoria Stutts is looking to normalize her numbers as she enters this week's event with a 76.89 stroke average and 79.83 average in the spring, compared to her 75.82 career mark. Stutts also has two of Troy's six rounds under-par this season.
