Women's Golf Finishes 11th at Babs Steffens Invitational

DEBARY, Fla. – Troy climbed a spot into 11th place in Tuesday's final round of the Babs Steffens Invitational at the DeBary Golf & Country Club. Constanza Quiroga fired a 3-over 74 to lead the Trojans in the final round.
Troy entered the day in 12th place and shot its best round of the tournament, shaving 10 strokes off its opening round tally to card a 21-over 305 on Tuesday. Quiroga carded a pair of birdies en route to her team-leading 74, while Mathilda Ringblom, Laura Fangmeyer and Victoria Stutts each had one birdie.
Stetson, the day one leader, held on to its lead to claim the team title by 10 strokes over App State. Keiser, UNC Asheville and West Georgia rounded out the top five.
Quiroga climbed 11 spots into a tie for 37th place individually at 23-over par for the week, while Manya Saini finished with Troy's top bag in a tie for 30th place at 21-over par; Saini shot 7-over in each of the three rounds.
Stutts shot her second 78 of the tournament and finished 44th, while Fangmeyer responded from a tough opening day with a 5-over 76 as she jumped into a tie for 47th place, while Ringblom rounded out the lineup for the Trojans in a tie for 74th.
Troy returns to action March 8-10 at the Chris Bannister Invitational in Anniston, Ala.
