Dyer Earns Sun Belt Player of the Week

JONESBORO, Ark. – For the second time this season, Troy women's basketball collected the Sun Belt Player of the Week via Zay Dyer, the Sun Belt Conference announced Tuesday morning.
"I feel like Zay has given a Player of the Week worthy performance for several weeks throughout the season, and I am thankful she was awarded with this in this last week of the season," head coach Chanda Rigby said.
The senior forward averaged 18.5 points, 15.5 rebounds, two assists and 2.5 blocks last week against South Alabama and Southern Miss to keep Troy tied for the No. 1 spot in the league. She had a 16-point, 11-rebound performance against South Alabama with seven free throws made and three blocks. Then, on her senior day, Dyer exploded for her second career 20-20 game with 21 points and 20 rebounds – she added two blocks. The Atlanta native continues to lead the nation with 20 double-doubles. She also leads the conference in rebounds (365), defensive rebounds per game (8.2), offensive rebounds (4.8) and rebounds per game (13.0).
Dyer joins Fortuna Ngnawo, who won Sun Belt Player of the Week in the first week of the season, as she claims her third career nod. She won back-to-back awards last season in week nine and 10 of 2024-25.
Dyer leads the Trojans in the final week of the regular season, starting tonight at 5 p.m. in the First National Bank Arena against Arkansas State.
