Andres Pastor Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

TROY, Ala. – Yeray Andres Pastor was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Andres Pastor earned the honor after turning in a 2-0 weekend on Court 3.
"It's a very well-deserved honor for Yeray," head coach Rolando Vargas said. "He showed a lot of composure and leadership this past weekend, especially as our only senior. We talked about how important it is to start a match strong, and Yeray was the first one to take on that role, giving us quick points on both days."
On Saturday at Kennesaw State, Andres Pastor defeated Leon Peranovic, 6-3, 6-1, to earn the Trojans their first singles point of the match. Troy went on to defeat the Owls, 4-2.
The next day at Samford, the Valencia, Spain, native earned a similar result - a 6-2, 6-2 win over Santiago Arredondo.
The two wins pushed Andres Pastor's spring record to 2-2.
