Troy Women’s Golf Opens Fall Season at Golfweek Challenge

TROY, Ala. – The Troy women's golf team opens its 2025-26 season at the Golfweek Fall Challenge beginning Sunday at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C.

"We have had a good start to the fall and are playing some good golf," head coach Randy Keck said. "They have worked really hard all summer and in the weeks leading up to this event. I don't think we're nearly as good as we're going to be later in the fall, but I'm excited to see us play and get a good measuring stick in place for the rest of the fall."

The Trojans are anchored by seniors Laura Fangmeyer and Katelynn Altese, who have played nearly 200 collegiate rounds collectively. Fangmeyer finished last season second on the roster with a 3.50 score versus par and four rounds under par. Her two rounds in the 60s were the only rounds in the 60s by a Troy golfer last season.

Keck will also turn to Manya Saini, who posted a 5.56 score versus par last year and has 40 career collegiate rounds, and sophomore Mathilda Ringblom, who played in seven events last season. Rounding out the lineup is freshman Constanza Quiroga, the top-ranked junior in Bolivia, who arrived at Troy ranked No. 232 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings—the highest ranking by a Troy recruit in program history.

"Like any team, you can't put a value on senior leadership, and we have two really strong leaders in Laura and Katelynn," Keck said. "They have stepped up this fall and their leadership has been outstanding.

"We just need to come out and find our footing early. Everyone is ramped up and anxious to get started. It's a little bit of an advantage to have an 18-hole first day, so we can get finished a little early and get back to the course and work on small corrections before round two."
