AUBURN, Ala. – Troy volleyball was upended by Auburn (12-25, 19-25, 17-25) inside Neville Arena on Wednesday night.

Auburn (3-1) put together an all-around performance, finishing the match with a .354 hitting percentage on 41 kills. Lauren Dreves led the way with 11, while Kate Mansfield tallied nine blocks for the Tigers.

Troy (0-3) trailed for the majority of the match, unabled to put together many sustained scoring runs. The Trojans were limited to a .045 hitting percentage with 30 total kills and 28 errors. Senior Amiah Butler once again led the offense with a match-high 12 kills, while freshman setter Madison Marx dished out 12 assists to go with eight digs and an ace. Olivia Kwiatkowski provided a spark with eight kills on .286 hitting, and libero Jaci Mesa anchored the back row with a team-high nine digs.

Set 1- Auburn 25, Troy 12

The two sides traded points early, with Auburn holding a narrow 5-4 edge. The Tigers then used a 6-0 run to seize control of the set and never looked back. Auburn hit an impressive .520 in the opener, with Dreves recording five kills.

Set 2 – Auburn 25, Troy 19

Troy found its footing in the second, leading 10-8 midway through the set. Kwiatkowski swung at a .429 clip in the set, while Marx handed out four of her 12 assists. Despite the improvement from Troy, Auburn took the set 25-19.

Set 3 – Auburn 25, Troy 17

Auburn took control of the third set early, jumping out to a 9-3 lead. The Tigers hit .355 while Edson dished out five assists. For the Trojans, Butler put down seven of her 12 kills. Auburn finished up the set on a four-point scoring run to win the match.

"I thought we had a couple players come out and have a good bounce back from the weekend. Olivia played really solid tonight, and Madison continues to do a really good job as a freshman. We're putting a lot of responsibility on her; she had some great service runs tonight and she continues to distribute the ball well while playing good defense. We need to find a better start, because the last three matches we have not started really well. That is something we need to get straightened out in practice before we're back in Trojan Arena on Saturday. It'll be good to be home and I'm looking forward to being back at practice tomorrow so that we can get better."
