Sound of the South 60th Anniversary Celebration Set for Sept. 12-13

TROY, Ala. – A vital part of Troy's gameday experience, the Sound of the South will celebrate its 60th anniversary in conjunction with the Troy Football game against Memphis on the weekend of Sept. 12-13.

The Sound of the South has entertained Troy fans for decades with its iconic pregame show, dazzling halftime performances and its world-famous 5th Quarter Show.

• Trojan Threads will have an official 60^th Anniversary t-shirt for sale.

• Share photos and videos via SOTSAlumni1965@gmail.com to be used in presentations during the weekend celebration.

Friday, September 12
The festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m.in the Trojan Center Ballroom with a special reception honoring the 10 members of the inaugural class of our Fanfare Society of Distinguished Alumni. Enjoy an evening of celebration with food, a cash bar, and live music as we recognize these remarkable individuals.

Saturday, September 13
Gameday begins at 7:30 a.m. with a rehearsal for the halftime performance, which will feature music spanning the past 60 years of the Sound of the South. Following rehearsal, the SOTS annual meeting will take place in the band room.

After the meeting, head to Tailgate Terrace, where alumni and guests can enjoy food, drinks and fellowship under our alumni tents.
