Forty-Four Troy Student-Athletes Earn Degrees at Spring Commencement

TROY, Ala. – Troy student-athletes represented 44 of the nearly 1,000 students who participated in Troy's spring commencement ceremonies on Thursday and Friday in Trojan Arena.Â
Â
Troy's track & field football program led the way with 11 student-athletes earning degrees this semester, followed by 10 from football, six from baseball and three from both women's golf and volleyball.
Â
The keynote address was provided by Dr. Lance Tatum, Northwest Missouri State University President and Troy alumnus.
Â
Tatum previously served as senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and chief academic officer at Troy University, while holding the rank of professor in its Sorrell College of Business.
Â
Tatum joined Troy University as a faculty member in 1998 and went on to serve as vice chancellor for its campus in Montgomery; vice chancellor for its Global Campus; dean of the College of Education; and chairperson of the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion as well as a Faculty Athletics Representative.Â
