TROY, Ala. - Troy right-handed pitcher Noah Edders was selected in the 15th round (No. 451 overall) of the MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs on Monday.
"Noah is a kid who evolved so much in our program, and we are proud of how he represented himself," Troy head coach Skylar Meade said. "I really believe he can pitch a long time in pro ball, and it will be exciting to watch the next phase in his development with the Cubs."
Edders joins Royals' eighth-round selection Brooks Bryan as the second Trojan selected in the 2025 draft, and is the fifth draft pick in Meade's four seasons.
The Woodridge, Ill., native transferred to Troy after beginning his college career at Bradley, and was a workhorse for the Trojans, starting 14 games and posting a 5-2 record and 5.12 ERA.
Edders struck 67 hitters to just 27 walks in 65.0 innings during his stellar 2025 campaign, and held hitters to a .241 batting average.
In his lone season in the cardinal and white, Edders went at least six innings in six of his 14 starts, including a seven-inning complete game in an 11-1 win over ULM. The junior fanned nine hitters twice in wins No. 16 Coastal Carolina and ULM, and he struck out eight in a win at Old Dominion.
