Troy Athletics Announces Horn Beverage Tailgate Concert Series Lineup

TROY, Ala. – The Horn Beverage Tailgate Concert Series is back for another season with a concert in Tailgate Terrace before each of Troy's six home games at The Vet this fall. The lineup includes Blackberry Breeze, Cody Wallace, Lucky Town, Whiskey River Band, POPulus and Russell Craig Band.

Each act takes the stage three hours before kickoff each week and will play a two-hour set, taking a small break for Trojan Walk (2:15 before kickoff). Returning for a third season is the Chill Zone, located at the front of the stage, featuring picnic tables and umbrellas for fans to take a break and enjoy the show.

• Band: Blackberry Breeze

Labeled as one of the best cover bands in the state of Alabama, Blackberry Breeze was born out of a garage in Dadeville, Ala., in 2012. The high-energy cover band plays the best tunes from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, as well as rock/classic rock, top 40, hip-hop, reggae and Motown. Â

About:Â Â Cody Wallace is a well-known name for music lovers across the Wiregrass. He made his Troy debut last season, playing at the annual Football Kickoff Party, and is a staple for his smooth guitar playing, distinctive voice and extensive song catalog.Â

Playing upwards of 200 shows a year all over the Southeast, The Whiskey River Band has garnered many fans and accolades. The WRB has been making a name for itself for years, boasting over 40 years of combined experience in playing music as an Alabama country band. The Whiskey River Band combined their talents in the winter of 2004 and set their goal of becoming the premier Country/Southern Rock act in the Southeast.

POPulus not only plays covers from well-known artists but also original songs written by students from Troy University's Music Industry Program.

About:Â Â Russell Craig, from Dothan, Ala., has been performing acoustic shows since 2010. In 2014, he recorded his first studio album titled "Call Me the Rain. In 2016, Russell was the opening act for the Charlie Daniels Band at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center. In 2018, Russell surrounded himself with three incredible musicians and formed the Russell Craig Band. Russell and his band play a variety of venues including bars, restaurants, weddings, charity events, corporate events, private events and more.

In addition to his music, Russell has a passion for helping others. He was born with an eye disease known as Retinitis Pigmentosa, a progressive disease that eventually causes total blindness.Â
