TROY, Ala. - With the MLB Draft quickly approaching next month, Troy junior Brooks Bryan is headed to Phoenix to participate in the fifth-annual MLB Draft Combine at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, from June 17-21.
322 draft-eligible prospects have accepted invitations to the event, including 174 of MLB Pipeline's Top 200 Draft Prospects. MLB Network will have exclusive coverage of the event on Tuesday, June 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT, featuring a complete broadcast of the event and breakdowns from MLB Network analysts.Â
"We are excited to have Brooks represent himself and Troy in Arizona," head coach Skylar Meade said. "Just like Zach Fruit in 2023, I expect all player personnel to love Brooks the player, and even more, the kid. "Â
Bryan, a catcher from Opelika, Ala., is a two-time All-Sun Belt selection and smashed Troy's RBI record with 85 as a sophomore last season. Bryan became the first Trojan to compete with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team last summer, along with being named a 2024 Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist and to the 2025 Buster Posey Catcher of the Year Award midseason watch list.Â
During his three seasons in the Cardinal and White, Bryan has hit for a .272 average and a .931 OPS. His 34 career home runs rank ninth in program history, and his 158 RBIs rank fourth. This season, the powerful left-handed hitter slugged 12 home runs while ranking third in the Sun Belt in both doubles (18) and RBIs (63).Â
Bryan comes in at No. 179 in MLB Pipeline's Top 200 Draft Prospects and is their fifth-ranked collegiate catcher.Â
The 2025 MLB Draft is scheduled for July 13-14 as part of the MLB All-Star Game festivities in Atlanta. Rounds 1-3 will take place on Day One, and rounds 4-20 will take place on Day Two.Â
