Troy Wins Five Events at South Alabama Last Chance Meet

MOBILE, Ala. – The Troy track and field program wrapped up its South Alabama Last Chance Meet with five first-place finishes and nine on the podium in the Jaguar Track.
Troy headlined the shot put events, sweeping the competition via Joy Edward and Altwayne Bedward. Edward's improved through her first two throws to peak on her third attempt at 15.18m – the thrower reached a personal best and top Troy mark of 2025. She also competed in the women's hammer throw, finishing second at 52.69m to hit a team-best. On the men's side, Bedward matched his mark from the Penn State Relays at 18.17m for gold.
Evan Brown, Michael Eady, Keylan Hicks faced one another in the 100m dash with Brown coming out victorious (10.39), followed by Eady in third (10.53) and Hicks at fourth (10.74). Later, Eady and Brown joined Tydreke Thomas and Milos Nisic in the 4x100m relay to win at 40.61 – Nisic also ran the 200m for second at 21.25.
Tayjo Oppong-Adjei competed in the discus and hammer throw for fourth (45.48) and second (53.20m), respectively. Meanwhile, Aaliyah Murphy grabbed a bronze in the 100m hurdles at 14.33.
