JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Troy track and field program wrapped up its season in the NCAA East Region First Round at the Jax Track at Hodges Stadium with a 16th place finish by Altwayne Bedward and 47th for Tydreke Thomas.
Last night after an extended weather delay, Thomas competed in the second heat after qualifying with the 24th-best time in the East Region. The sprinter crossed the line at 10.73 for eighth, ending his season in 47th.
Bedward nearly punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships in the shot put event this afternoon. The junior thrower entered in the third fleet as the No. 16-ranked thrower in the region. After faulting on his first throw, the Jamaica native threw his second-best throw of 2025 at 18.51m to finish 16th – the top 12 advanced to the NCAA Championships.
