No. 15 Troy Set for In-State Showdown with Jacksonville State

TROY, Ala. - No. 15 Troy is set for an in-state showdown on Tuesday as they'll welcome Jacksonville State to Riddle-Pace Field.
The Trojans picked up their eleventh consecutive series victory over the weekend, topping Texas State 3-2 on Friday night and 9-4 on Saturday before falling 14-3 on Sunday. Blake Cavill homered twice in the series, delivering a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning on Friday, while Grayson Stewart shut things down with 7.0 innings and zero earned runs in relief on Saturday.Â
Following the weekend, Troy was ranked No. 15 in Monday's Baseball America Top 25 for the second consecutive week, the highest ranking in program history.
Senior left-hander Jacob Roettgen is slated to make his fourth start of the season for the Trojans on Tuesday. The Jefferson City, Mo., native has held his opponent to zero earned runs in five of his six appearances this season, and most recently pitched two scoreless frames in relief against Texas State on Friday.
Jacksonville State will counter with redshirt sophomore righty James Wilson, who started the previous matchup on March 11 in an 11-1 win for the Gamecocks. Troy drew five walks and an HBP in 4.2 innings against the righty, but Wilson held the Trojans to one hit and one run.
