Track & Field Heads to Historic Penn Relays

TROY, Ala. – Troy track & field's regular season peaks with the historic Penn Relays at Franklin Field for a three-day, jam-packed slate from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday, April 26.
The Penn Relays open at 2 p.m. with the women's hammer throw and rolls until 10:30 p.m. with the men's 10,000m. Friday continues the action at noon via the women's long jump – the day ends at 8:10 p.m. on the 5000m events. Troy's three-day slate ends on Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the women's discus event and ending at 5:45 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay.

Fresh From the Peach State
The Trojans are fresh off their battle in the Peach State with the Georgia Tech Invitational, where they claimed nine top 10 finishes and multiple personal bests at the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility. Jasmine Jimenez, Catherine Forbes, Aaliyah Murphy and Shanyah Washington headlined the Trojans with the lone first-place finish in the 4x100m relay (45.57).
Seven of Troy's top 10 finishes came in the field events as Altwayne Bedward picked up a pair in the shot put (17.66m) and discus (48.90m) events, finishing second and eighth, respectively – Joy Edward also secured a fourth-place finish in the shot put for the women's side at 14.78m.
A pair of top 10 finishes from the track events came from Tydreke Thomas and Michael Eady in the 100m event. Thomas posted a 10.41 time for silver as Eady followed in seventh at 10.51. Josh Kalozi also secured a 10th-place finish in the men's 110m hurdles with a personal best of 14.29.
