Troy Ventures to Atlanta for Georgia Tech Invitational

TROY, Ala. – Troy track and field heads to the Peach State, where it enters a matchup against 55 teams from Friday, April 18 to Saturday, April 19 in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
Within the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility, the Trojans start their meet on Friday at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer throw with running events starting at 4 p.m. with the 100m hurdles – Friday's competition concludes at 9:25 p.m. in the men's 5000m. Saturday starts with the men's triple jump at 9:30 a.m. and rolls until 4:05 p.m. with the 4x400m relays.

Leave the Wiregrass
The Trojans spent the last two weekend in the wiregrass, with their most recent meet seeing nine top 10 finishes at the Crimson Tide Invitational. Troy's 4x100m relay team on the men's side continued its impressive season as Tydreke Thomas, Evan Brown, Keylan Hicks and Michael Eady combined for a season's best time of 40.28 for third.
Joy Edward also shined in the women's hammer throw and shot put events with a pair of top 10 finishes – she has nine top 10 finishes on the year, including four first-place finishes. In the hammer throw, she nearly hit a career-best mark at 52.55m for fifth. She followed it with a sixth place finish in the shot put with a season-best 14.65m.
Troy found its best performances come in the 5000m on both the men's and women's side. Keith Warner headlined the men's team as he ran a personal best 14:33.82 for the top time of 2025 by a Trojan for seventh. Meanwhile, Cadi Rowe topped her best time of 2025 from the USF Alumni Invitational by nearly six seconds at 16:47.58 for third.
