Women’s Golf set for WKU Spring Break Shootout

TROY, Ala. – Back on the course for the first time since its victory at the Hunstville.org Intercollegiate, the Troy women's golf team opens spring break at the WKU Spring Break Shootout, hosted at the Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Fla.

Troy's victory in Huntsville was made even more impressive by the intense conditions in which it came; teams battled winds that reached 40 MPH throughout the final round, causing scores almost 30 shots higher than the second round.

The Trojans were just 2-over during the second round, led by a quartet of strong individual performances as Victoria Stutts (1-under), Laura Fangmeyer (1-over), Mathilda Ringblom (even) and Katelynn Altese (2-over).

Stutts leads Troy with 94.1 percent of her cards counting towards the team score, while Fangmeyer holds the slight stroke advantage at 74.58 to 75.00 for Stutts. The pair has combined for six rounds under par, while Altese has Troy's seventh.
