NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Troy women's tennis team struggled to get going on Sunday afternoon, as it fell 4-0 to Tulane at the City Park Tennis Center.

Troy (3-4) was unable to carry momentum from Saturday's victory over New Orleans into Sunday. In doubles, Tulane (4-3) got off to a strong start with a 6-2 win in the No. 3 spot before taking the 1-0 lead with a 6-3 victory in the No. 2 spot. The top doubles match went unfinished with Tulane leading 4-3.

In singles, the Green Wave extended their lead to 2-0 with a win on court 2. Shortly after, Tulane sealed the deal with wins on court 1 and court 6 to make it 4-0.

The remaining three matches went unfinished. Valeriia Avdeeva was close to securing a win on court 4, leading 6-0, 5-4.

Troy returns to action on Friday, Feb. 28, as it travels to Birmingham to take on Samford.
