Women’s Golf Heads to Pirate Collegiate

TROY, Ala. – Coming off a victory its last time out, the Troy women's golf team looks to ride the wave of momentum this week as the Trojans travel to Greenville, N.C., for the Pirate Collegiate Classic hosted by East Carolina at the Greenville Country Club.
The Trojans rallied past UNC Asheville on the final day of The Velvet Classic to win the event, while freshman Constanza Quiroga became the first Trojan to win an individual title since 2019.
Quiroga birdied her first playoff hole to claim individual medalist honors after shooting 1-under in the final round to close out the week at 5-over (even-par her final two rounds). Laura Fangemyer and Katelynn Altese turned in top 10 finishes for the Trojans in the event, while all five Trojan golfers finished inside the top 26.
Quiroga leads the Trojans with a 2.67 score vs. par on the year, while Altese is tied for second with a 3.33 mark. Manya Saini is one of three Trojans (Quiorga and Altese) to have all six of their count towards the team card, while Victoria Stutts makes her debut in the lineup after playing as an individual last week; Stutts was Troy's top bag last season as she finished the year with a 3.31 score vs. par and team-best six rounds under par.
The Trojans will play Monday's 36 holes along with West Georgia and Longwood beginning from the No. 10 tee at 6:45 a.m. (CT).
