MONROE, La. – Troy volleyball was unable to find enough offense on Thursday night, falling to ULM, 3-1 (21-25, 25-14, 24-26, 18-25) inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
For Troy (5-14, 3-8), Amiah Butler showed why she's among the Sun Belt's best, finishing the match with 24 kills on .354 hitting, while adding 15 digs in the process. Setter Madison Marx had one of her most impressive matches, as the true freshman tallied 29 assists, and fell one dig shy of a double-double.
ULM (10-15, 1-10) earned its first Sun Belt victory of the season behind 21 kills from Amelia Piekut. No other Warhawk reached double-digit kills, however it was the defense that propelled ULM to the win, as libero Briana Raney helped limit the Trojan attack, finishing with 18 digs.
