Troy Sweeps ULM, 3-0

MONROE, La. – Troy volleyball bounced back from its loss on Thursday night, dominating ULM from start to finish in a sweep over the Warhawks. The Trojans never trailed and outperformed ULM in every major statistical category.
Kalina Calvillo led Troy (6-14, 4-8) with 10 kills at a .350 hitting clip, while freshman setter Madison Marx notched the fourth double-double of her young career, tallying 23 assists and 11 digs. Sydney Austin led the team in points with 11.5, four of which came from blocks.
For ULM (10-16, 1-11) Chavon Weaver was a bright spot, hitting .429 with three kills and two blocks. Amelia Piekut led the Warhawks with seven kills, but her 10 errors limited her attack percentage to -.100.
Set 1 – TROY 25, ULM 15
Troy and ULM split the first four points - one of only two times in the entire match the score was tied. Troy would win nine of the next 12 points to take an 11-5 lead. The final differential would be 10, with Troy earning a comfortable first set win. Austin finished the first frame with two aces and two blocks.
Set 2 – TROY 25, ULM 19
Troy won the first three points of the match and led 7-3 early on in the second. In the closest set of the match, ULM would use a three-point scoring run to cut the Troy lead to five late in the set, forcing a Troy timeout. However, the Trojans would split the final six points in the frame to win the set, 25-19.
Set 3 – TROY 25, ULM 12
The third set was Troy's best, hitting .485 as a team. Calvillo played a large role in this success, putting down five of her six swings in the set for a .667 clip. Troy made just three attacking errors, and coasted to the finish line to complete the sweep.

Notables
- For just the second time this season, Troy outblocked its opponent. The Trojans are 1-1 in those matches, with the first against South Alabama on Sept. 27.
- The Trojans' .485 hitting percentage in the third set was the team's second-highest in a set this season. The Trojans hit .536 in the first set at Kennesaw State on Sept. 14.
- Troy limited ULM to a -.024 hitting percentage – the lowest a Trojans opponent has attacked at this season and the first negative percentage.
- Madison Marx tied her career-high in digs with 11.
- Troy is now 23-5 all-time against ULM.
Up Next
Troy will return to Trojan Arena next week for two matches against Southern Miss. The first match is set for Friday at 6 p.m., and the second on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Trojans will honor their seniors as part of Senior Day prior to Saturday's match.
