Troy Returns to The Vet Riding Four-Game Winning Streak

TROY, Ala. – Winners of four straight games, including three on the road, Troy Football returns home to The Vet for two straight games, beginning with Louisiana on Saturday night. Kickoff between the Trojans and Ragin' Cajuns is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Troy (5-2, 3-0 SBC) is a game away from bowl eligibility for the third time in the last four seasons as the Trojans continue their stretch of five straight games against teams that beat them last year.

The first three in the stretch have gone the Trojans' way thanks to overtime victories over South Alabama and Texas State, followed by a 23-point victory at ULM last week. Troy sits at the top of the Sun Belt West Division standings at 3-0 along with Southern Miss.

The Trojans forced four turnovers in the win at ULM last weekend after going three straight games without a takeaway. It was Troy's 17^th game with four or more takeaways since 2016, the most in the country, while Joe Lott's interception return for a touchdown was Troy's 17^th defensive score since 2020, the third most nationally.

After struggling to stop the run against South Alabama and Texas State, Troy held ULM to just 98 rushing yards and 326 total yards. The Trojans have held four of their seven opponents to 326 yards or fewer this season.

Troy's offense during the four-game winning streak has put together 16 touchdown drives and converted on 10-of-13 fourth-down attempts.

Louisiana (2-5, 1-2) opened league play with a double overtime victory over Marshall before dropping games to James Madison (24-14) and Southern Miss (22-10), both teams leading their respective divisions.

The Cajuns have three quarterbacks with at least 25 passing attempts this season, while Zylan Perry leads the rushing attack with 77.7 yards per game on the ground.

• Troy has won six of its last seven Sun Belt Conference games dating back to last season ... Troy has won eight of their last 11 games dating back to last season ... Troy is 3-0 in Sun Belt play for the first time since the 2018 season, the Trojans opened that season 7-0 before losing at App State in the season finale.
