TROY, Ala. – Coming off its third consecutive 20-win season, the Troy men's basketball team has set its schedule for the 2024-25 campaign, head coach Scott Cross announced on Wednesday morning. The Trojans will travel to Arkansas, Oregon, and Houston and host the inaugural Trojan Turkey Tipoff during the week of Thanksgiving.
"This will be the most challenging schedule we have had since I have been the head coach at Troy," Cross said. "We will play three really good teams in Arkansas, Oregon, and Houston, who will likely be among the top three teams going into the season. We will host Eastern Kentucky, which is always at the top of the ASUN. We will definitely be prepared for Sun Belt play after taking on this gauntlet of a non-conference schedule."
The Trojans, who open their season against Toledo on Nov. 4 in Trojan Arena as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge, will hit the road for the first time of the year on Nov. 9 to take on New Orleans. Troy will then head west to take on John Calipari and Arkansas on Nov. 13.
For the second consecutive season, the Trojans will head to the Pacific Northwest, where they will take on Oregon, one of the newest members of the Big Ten, on Nov. 17. Troy will stay on the road for one more game as they will take on West Georgia (Nov. 19) in their debut D-I season.
On Monday, Nov. 25, Troy will kick off the Trojan Turkey Tipoff with a showdown against UTSA. On Black Friday, the Trojans will host Merrimack (Nov. 29). Merrimack and UTSA will go against each other on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
"We are excited to host the Trojan Turkey Tipoff and welcome Merrimack, who has been dominant over the last few years in the NEC, as well as UTSA and their new-look team," Cross said.
