TROY, Ala. – Troy softball prepares for an eight-game fall schedule consisting of six at home, which includes Florida State, one on the road against Georgia Tech and a neutral site date with Mississippi State.
"This year's fall schedule should be both challenging and exciting," head coach Eric Newell said. "We wanted to be very intentional about creating some very tough matchups both at home and on the road. I think this schedule will push us to our limits and give us a good measuring stick on where we want to be."
The fall schedule kicks off on Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. when Northwest Florida comes to the Troy softball complex before the Trojans take on their first of two 2024 NCAA Tournament teams in Mississippi State – failed to advance from the Stanford Regional. The programs collide in Irondale, Ala., for a neutral site matchup on Oct. 5 at 4 p.m.
Four straight home games follow, starting against Central Alabama (Oct. 9 – 5 p.m.) and ending with Snead (Oct. 18 – 5 p.m.). In between, Troy invites the Tallahassee Regional winner, Florida State, to the Troy Softball Complex on Oct. 13 (1 p.m.) and plays Chipola on Oct. 16 at 5 p.m.
Troy's lone road game sends them to Shirley Clements Memborn Field on Oct. 20 (1 p.m.) for a date with the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech before wrapping up the fall at home with Gulf Coast (Oct. 25 – 5 p.m.).
