Christyon Eugene Signs Professional Deal with CS Rapid Bucuresti

TROY, Ala. – Coming off a career senior season in which he was named All-Sun Belt First Team, Christyon Eugene has signed a professional contract with CS Rapid București in Romania.
"I was super excited to see 'Spudd' sign his first professional contract with CS Rapid București," head coach Scott Cross said. "He is one of the most talented players that I have ever coached, and he has been a huge part of our success over the last three years, helping us with back-to-back-to-back 20-win seasons. CS Rapid București is located in Bucharest, the country's capital. The club finished sixth in its league last season.
In his three seasons with Troy, the Trojans put together a strong record of 60-37 (34-18 SBC), which included an appearance in the CBI Tournament in 2022. He averaged 25.4 minutes per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from 3-point range while a member of the Trojans. In his Trojan career, he had 49 games with doubles figure points, 44 games with three or more assists and 49 starts. He finished his collegiate play averaging 10.8 points, 2.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds.
In 2023-24, Eugene led the Trojans offensively with 15.1 points per game, good for seventh in the Sun Belt Conference. He scored a career-high 28 points in Troy's win over Georgia Southern last season and scored 20 or more points in eight games while scoring in double-figures in 27 games. He set a career-high in rebounds with nine against Coastal Carolina. Eugene had an eight-game stretch during conference play where he scored 10-plus points in each performance and had 17 or more points in five of those games.
