Kyle Mock Tabbed Sun Belt Player of the Week

TROY, Ala. – Kyle Mock led Troy baseball to a 2-1 weekend over previously ranked No. 18 Louisiana on a team-high .636 batting average, 1.364 slugging percentage, .692 on-base percentage, nine RBIs and seven hits (two doubles and two homers) to earn Sun Belt Player of the Week honors, the SBC office announced Tuesday afternoon.
"Kyle has been outstanding all year for us, especially in big spots," head coach Skylar Meade said. "We are happy he is honored with player of the week, and let's hope there are more accolades for him moving forward."
Game one saw Mock's best when he went 3-for-5 with a double and grand slam to earn a career-high seven RBIs and lead Troy in its second straight run-rule victory over a ranked league opponent, 16-5. He followed it in game two with a 2-for-3 day, including his second homer on the weekend and a walk before finishing it with another 2-for-3 showing with a double to boost.
The award marks the designated hitter's first as a Trojan and the second for the Trojans in 2024 after Will Butcher was named back on Feb. 20.
Mock and the newly ranked No. 21 Trojans prepare for a top-25 matchup against No. 22 Alabama at 6 p.m. in Riddle-Pace Field.
