MONROE, La. – Alyssa Mercado shot a pair of rounds under par en route to a 4-under 140 during Monday's opening two rounds of the ULM Invitational at the Bayou DeSaird Country Club. Troy is in fifth place as a team, just four shots off a top-three finish.

Mercado has now played four of her last 10 rounds under par following a pair of 70s on Monday, as she carded nine birdies across her 36 holes. Her 140 is Troy's lowest 36-hole total of the year, besting her 143 (+1) on a par-71 course at the Spring Break Shootout. Mercado has six rounds under par this season, which is triple her next closest teammate.

Troy bounced back in the second round to shoot 3-over as a team following a morning 11-over-par. Sam Houston State leads the event at 2-over, followed by Arkansas State (+8), Samford (+11), Southern Miss (+13) and Troy (+14).

Laura Fangmeyer is just two shots back of a top-10 standing after shooting 1-over on the day with rounds of 72 and 73 on her card. She opened the day blitzing the course for five birdies in the morning and followed with three in the afternoon.

Katelynn Altese and Manya Saini are tied for 52^nd place at 10-over par despite getting there in different ways. Altese carded three birdies over her two rounds (76-78), while Saini shaved eight shots off her opening-round tally to shoot 73 in the afternoon. Bruna Roqueta rounded out the field for the Trojans in a tie for 61^stafter shooting 12-over on the day.

Playing as an individual, Jillian Friyia had the best 36-hole effort of the season thanks to matching rounds of 75 with four birdies in the morning and three in the afternoon.

Teams wrap up play Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes.
