HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Led by a strong final 36 from Laura Fangmeyer, the Troy women's golf team climbed up the leaderboard to finish second at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate after opening the day in fourth place.

Fangmeyer, who sat in 45^th place following the opening round, carded a pair of birdies and 16 pars in her round as she moved into a tie for seventh place with her 2-under 70 on Wednesday. The 70 was her first round in the red this season and the seventh by a Trojan. She was 1-over in the final two rounds after opening the event with a 6-over 78.

Troy was 9-over on Wednesday, second only to Lipscomb's 5-over, as the Bison won the team title, followed by Troy, Oakland, Jacksonville and Austin Peay. The Trojans were the most consistent team on the course, leading the 16-team field with 179 pars, as Fangmeyer and Alyssa Mercado finished 1-2 with 40 and 38, respectively.

Alyssa Mercardo carded birdies on a pair of par-4 holes to close out her week at 9-over and tied for 13^th place overall, while Manya Saini climbed 12 spots into a tie for 22^nd place thanks to a 2-over round, which featured a birdie on the par-3 16^th.

Katelynn Altese also made a move as she jumped eight spots into a tie for 26^th place after shooting 4-over on the day with birdies on the first and 15^th, while Bruna Roqueta shot 78 on the day and finished in a tie for 34^thplace.

Troy takes a week off before heading to San Antonio, Fla., and the Lake Jovita Country Club for the Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky.
